The Job

This Assistant Accountant job sits within the Management Accounting team and will support the production of the management accounts pack for the group company. Working in a team, you will work closely with a Qualified Management Accountant who will support you in your future development. The focus of the team is to ensure timely and accurate production of the monthly management accounting pack.

The Assistant Management Accountant will support the production of the monthly management accounts and will also gain exposure to preparing forecasts and budgets. You will maintain the fixed asset register and prepare the monthly accruals and prepayments as well as posting of journals. The role will also focus on balance sheet reconciliations as well as supporting some billing and the raising of invoices. The successful Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for the utility costs as well as recharges and resolution of some supplier queries.

The ideal candidate

Will be a Part-Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT late-stage studier and ambitious in nature, although the company will consider someone qualified by experience. A self-starter with excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work to deadlines. This role will suit an Assistant Accountant who can demonstrate some experience of supporting the management accounting process and someone who is clearly analytical. You must be a self-starter and keen to use your initiative. You will have strong Excel skills as well as a good eye for detail.
