The charity is very well established, extremely welcoming, and forward thinking and is seeking a HR professional to join the team as the new HR Manager. Job role:

The HR Business Partner job is a key position in the charity working closely with the HR Director, management team and wider staff to develop and lead on all HR Practices. The HR BP/HR manager will provide professional advice, guidance and support across the organisation. The HR Manager will help build organisation and people capability, improve and implement effective people processes and activities within the Charity. The HR business partner will also be a great support to providing expertise and support in all people areas for example onboarding, contracts of employment, employee relations, EDI and policy issues.

Key duties include:
  • Management of the HR team.
  • Lead managers through the recruitment and selection process in the creation of role summaries and adverts as well as succession planning.
  • Participate in interviews and selection assessments.
  • Advise and empower managers in the pro-active management of short and long-term sickness absence.
  • Identifying monthly absence triggers, preparing for formal absence review meetings, ensuring consistency and appropriate intervention at the meetings, and ensuring any follow up actions are completed.
  • Advise and coach managers through the process of discipline and grievance.
  • Guide and empower managers through employee relation processes such as performance management, flexible working requests.
  • Lead on the process of contract changes, preparing payroll notifications for approval and ensuring the HR database is maintained.
  • Monitor and audit the process of onboarding new employees and/or volunteers to the Charity which includes induction and probationary review procedures.
  • Prepare statistical reports sourcing information from the HR Database on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor and implement current and future employment legislation.
  • Lead on the development of existing policies, procedures and manager guides to support internal needs and legislative updates.
  • Ensure administration practices are compliant with GDPR guidelines working securely and confidentially with personal data.
  • Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) so as to support and drive a non-discriminatory culture.

Who should apply?
  • An experienced HR business partner / HR manager or HR advisor seeking their first HR manager job.
  • An HR professional who is keen to work in the charity sector.
  • Qualified to CIPD Level 5+ or working towards - preferable but experience is more important.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Up to date knowledge of current and impending employment law.
  • Experienced in using HR computerised systems with excellent excel skills.
  • Solution focused with good interpersonal skills.
  • Logical in approach to HR services with the ability to identify and streamline processes.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, manage to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of recruitment and interviewing support.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels including active listening.
  • Ability to influence decision making.
  • Be organised and efficient to balance workload.
