Vardey Recruitment is supporting an energetic and rapidly expanding retail company based in Poole, Dorset. We are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join the team, working alongside the Financial Director. You will work in a small team running the busy accounts department, taking responsibility for the reporting, management accounts preparation and supervision of the small team.

Key duties:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
• Produce financial statements including P&L, cashflow, variance analysis and commentaries
• Analyse monthly information
• Conduct profit and cost analyses
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
• Manage monthly payroll
• Ensure tax compliance globally and complete all tax returns as required
• Supervise the finance team
• Monitor cash flow
• Monitor day to day finance operations, such as invoicing and other transactions
• Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Review accounting processes and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations.
• Identifying problems areas and present recommendations
• Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
• Recommend cost-reducing solutions

The Accounts role will suit:

• An experienced Management/ Assistant Accountant seeking a step towards a Finance Manager.
• Or an experienced Finance Manager/Financial Controller seeking a number 2 role.
• You will be highly organised, be able to work to tight deadlines and have previously worked within a small company environment (ideally although not essential)
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA PQ, OR AAT or Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience accountant.
