Vardey Recruitment is delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with a market leading, design and manufacturing global organisation based near Bournemouth Airport.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACA/ACCA to lead the team supporting the established account’s function working closely with the Financial Director. This hybrid senior finance accountancy job will take ownership for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for proactive financial planning, controls and compliance together with the management of the accounts team.  This Financial Controller / Finance Manager level job is a crucial business partnering role to the organisation and will no doubt influence decision making and help drive the business forward.

Job highlights
  • Management, lead and development of the accounts department.
  • Prepare and analysis of month-end management reports; reviewing for accuracy or omissions, reporting findings to management and alert management to significant variances to plan and forecast.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and studies as required including leading or assisting in the completion of bid proposals – profit & loss, NPV and ROI.
  • Business partnering working across the business to help influence whilst working with operations, sales teams, engineering.
  • Using your analytical skills to detect trends and create forecasts to provide insightful advice and serve as change agents.
  • Perform complex technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Gather, analyse, prepare and summarise recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
  • Analysis of processes and procedures to expose any information useful in improving operating efficiencies.
  • Process and maintain general ledger, profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements.
  • Develop plans and coordinating preparation of strategies, budgets and forecasts.
  • 'Owner' of MIS system, maintaining data cubes and creating complex reports.
  • Support the audits and support internal, external and government audit requirements.
  • Project work to include implementation of new ERP Systems and Payroll upgrades
  • Coordinate, resolve, and ensure financial compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Document and update accounting policies and procedures.
The role will interest:
  • An ambitious fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant with leadership skills
  • Proven Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Head of Finance or equivalent
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • Ideally good ERP experience and the ability to interpret and interrogating information 
  • Technically strong accountant - with a commercial flair
  • Drive and tenacity
  • Able to manipulate, interpret and analyse financial data
  • Business partnering skills
  • Ability to implement a new payroll system ideally
  • Excellent IT knowledge
  • Advanced MS office/Excel advanced
