Part-Time Head of Finance - Job Filled

Salisbury - Wiltshire | £50,000 - £60,000 FTE

Vardey Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial technology business located in Salisbury Town centre, Wiltshire. We are recruiting for a Part-Time Financial Controller to join the company on a permanent basis for approx 25 -30 hours per week -depending on the individuals requirements. The Part-Time Head of Finance / Financial Controller will be keen to find a mix of office and home working.

The Part-Time Financial Controller will own the finance function with supervision of one accounts assistant. Working in this SME of 20 staff you will be providing financial guidance to the MD on a strategic level as well as rolling up your sleeves taking full ownership of the accounts department. Duties of the part-time Financial Controller job:
  • Management of the accounts assistant
  • Prepare monthly finance reporting pack for management meetings
  • Budget and forecast profit and loss, with variance analysis
  • Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Monitor project financials, and profit margins
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Monthly payroll
  • Daily – prepare/review bank statements reconciliations
  • Validate expenses and pay debtors
  • Assisting with AR/AP if required
The ideal candidate:
  • Qualified Accountant, Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Financial Director – Head of Finance seeking a part-time job
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Strong commercial acumen – able to offer financial and strategic advice to leadership team
  • Able to work across the business
  • Ideally experience of working within an SME
