As the Finance Manager/Financial Controller, you will work directly with the CEO and support this ambitious, family-run business as it enters an exciting phase of expansion.

The Financial Manager/Financial Controller job role:

This is a senior, hands-on role within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will take full ownership of the finance function—combining strategic oversight with day-to-day involvement in the detail.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you’ll provide clear financial insight to support commercial decision-making, while taking responsibility for all things finance related to include cash flow management, management accounts, and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Leadership & Management
• Lead the day-to-day finance function, including purchase ledger, cash control, and payroll.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow).
• Ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting.

Cashflow & Forecasting

• Own cash flow management and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor income and expenditure across multiple projects.
• Identify cash flow risks early and propose mitigating actions.

Project & Commercial Finance

• Work closely with Project Managers to track costs, revenues, and margins by project.
• Maintain accurate project tracking within the accounting system.
• Provide clear financial insight on project profitability.
• Challenge assumptions and highlight commercial risks and opportunities

Systems, Processes & Team Leadership

• Drive improvements to accounting systems, processes, and reporting.
• Lead, develop, and support a small finance team.
• Contribute to wider business planning and commercial strategy as part of the Leadership Team.
